DecorLens

Privacy Policy

Effective 11 September 2026 · Last updated 13 October 2026

The short version. DecorLens uses your camera to measure and place objects in your room. Camera images and the photos you choose stay on your phone — they are never uploaded to us. If you sign in to use Room Planner, we store your Google account identifier, your email address, a count of the free visits you have used and, if you subscribe, the state of your subscription. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in the app or on our website. We do not sell your data, we show no ads, and we use no analytics or tracking services.

1. Who we are

DecorLens is an augmented-reality measuring and room-planning app for Android, published by ShreeJee, India. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that publisher, and “the app” means DecorLens.

If you have a question about anything here, write to support.ardecorlens@gmail.com.

2. What stays on your phone

Most of what DecorLens handles never leaves your device. We have no copy of any of it and no way to retrieve it.

3. What we collect

We collect data in only two situations: when you sign in, and when your device contacts our server.

If you sign in with Google

Room Planner's free trial is counted on our server, so placing an item in your room requires a Google sign-in. When you sign in, Google gives us:

WhatWhy we need it
A Google account identifier (a stable ID for your account) To recognise you as the same person next time, so your trial and, later, your subscription follow your account rather than your phone
Your email address To show you which account is signed in, and to help you if you contact support

We do not receive your Google password, and we have no access to your Google account, your contacts, your Drive or anything else in it.

Your use of the free trial

Each time you enter augmented reality in Room Planner, we record that a free visit was used, with the time it happened and how many placements it allowed. We keep this as a record of visits rather than a running total, so the count cannot drift.

If you subscribe

Subscriptions are sold and paid for through Google Play; we never see your payment details. When you subscribe, Google gives us a reference for the purchase, and we keep Google's answers about it — which plan, whether it is active, when it renews or ends, and the country Google sold it in — so that your subscription works on your account.

Technical records

Like any web service, our servers record requests made to them. These logs include your IP address, the time of the request, which part of the service was called and whether it succeeded. They exist so we can keep the service running and investigate faults and abuse.

4. What we do not do

5. Who else is involved

Two companies process data on our behalf or as part of a feature you choose to use:

We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users from fraud, abuse or a security threat.

6. Where your data is held

The account and trial records described above are stored in India, on AWS infrastructure in the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. If you use the app from outside India, your data is transferred there in order to provide the service.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your choices and your rights

Withdrawing camera access

You can revoke the camera permission at any time in Android Settings ▸ Apps ▸ DecorLens ▸ Permissions. The measuring and placement features will stop working, because they cannot see the room without it; the rest of the app remains usable.

Signing out

Signing out from the account sheet in the app removes the session from your device immediately. Your account and trial record remain on our server so that your entitlements are still there when you sign back in.

Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in two ways: in the app (the gear on the Home screen ▸ Manage account ▸ Delete account), or at ardecorlens.com/delete-account.html by signing in with the same Google account — which works without the app installed. These are the only ways an account is deleted. Deletion takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.

Access and correction

You may ask us what we hold about you and we will tell you. Because the only personal data we store is your account identifier, your email address, your trial history and your subscription's state, there is rarely much to report — but ask, and we will answer.

9. Children

There is nothing in DecorLens that is unsuitable for any age. It is a measuring and room-planning tool — it holds no age-restricted content of any kind, and the rating boards agree: it is rated Everyone by the ESRB, PEGI 3 in Europe and USK 0 in Germany. Anyone of any age can open the app, measure a room and place shapes, and this policy is safe for anyone to read.

This section is about accounts, not about content. Signing in creates a record that contains an email address, and Indian data-protection law treats the personal data of anyone under 18 as needing a parent's consent — so an account is meant for people aged 18 and over, which is the audience we have declared on Google Play. Nothing is lost by not having one: measuring and the shape tools work fully without signing in.

If an account has been created for someone under 18, it can be deleted at any time in the app, or at ardecorlens.com/delete-account.html by signing in with that Google account.

10. Security

Traffic between the app and our server is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. The session token that keeps you signed in is encrypted on your device using the Android Keystore and is excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup. Our database is not reachable from the public internet, and the service connects to it with an account limited to reading and writing application data. No system is perfectly secure, but these are the measures in place.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or what we do with it, we will update the date at the top of this page, and — for a significant change — tell you in the app before it takes effect.

12. Contact
